Shipping & Returns

Shipping (as of May 1 2024)

We currently provide free small parcel shipping for most orders over $1000, however certain limitations apply for ALL client locations, including shipments containing flammables or special declarations items, bulk cones orders, dispensary packaging, or LTL shipments. We will not ship to PO Boxes or residential addresses without prior written approval, and reserve the right to cancel orders with such shipping addresses. Some orders with multiple boxes might arrive at different times, depending on carrier used, especially if special logistics or flammables declarations are required. HMI will always do what we can to mitigate ship expenses for all clients, and we won't upcharge our ship fees.

Below are our current ship policies:

Colorado (small parcel policy):

  • Free shipping on most small parcel orders over $420. For orders under $420, a $35 ship fee will apply. Most of the time, FedEx and UPS will deliver to Colorado businesses next day with regular ground service. Flammables and LTL shipments or other rush services not being delivered in the Denver metro area (inner 470 loop) will cost $20 for every three flammables on order. Flammables surcharges will be added after HMI receives your order. Bulk cones orders will ship standard ground service, not express. Dispensary packaging ship fees will be quoted on a per-order basis, and will not count towards free shipping.

The rest of the "lower 48" [contiguous USA, excluding Colorado] (small parcel policy):

  • Free ground shipping on most small parcel orders over $1,000. For orders under $1000 a $50 ship fee will apply. Flammables will incur a $20 processing fee for every three flammables on order. Flammables surcharges will be added after HMI receives your order. LTL shipments or other rush services may cost extra. Bulk cones orders will ship standard ground service, not express. Dispensary packaging ship fees will be quoted on a per-order basis, and will not count towards free shipping. Any expedited shipping services must be paid for by the client.

Alaska and Hawaii (small parcel policy):

  • We can no longer offer free shipping to Alaska or Hawaii clients. We will ship butane, but can not ship other flammables to Alaska or Hawaii clients at this time.
  • For Alaska clients, we will quote each order's ship fees on a per-order basis, since all orders are different and require different logistics depending on contents, volume, and density. We will always do what we can to minimize shipping expense for the client, including mixing ship carriers if the situation merits it. HMI will contact you within one business day with a ship quote.
  • For Hawaii clients, we will default shipping to a method/carrier most cost effective for HMI and the customer, and will notify customer of delivery times and cost estimates. Currently we've found it generally to be most cost effective shipping USPS.
  • HMI will accept delivery to PO boxes for AK and HI with advance written approval, as we know some remote locations are not ideal for deliveries. In the event we ship to a PO Box, USPS is the required carrier.

Puerto Rico (small parcel policy):

  • Unfortunately we cannot offer free shipping to PR at this time.
  • We will default shipping to a method/carrier most cost effective for HMI and the customer, and will notify customer of delivery times and cost estimates. Currently we've found it generally to be most cost effective shipping USPS.

International (all shipments):

  • We will notify the customer upon receiving an international order as to what shipping options and delivery times are available, based on a variety of factors including the size of the order and global geography. HMI is not responsible for any tariffs, customs fees, or duties incurred.
  • For those clients who have a USA-based freight forwarder, we will use our domestic shipping policies to ship to your freight forwarder destination, and HMI's responsibility for the order ends upon delivery to your freight forwarder service.

"Stress Free" Returns Policy

  • We want you to feel confident shopping with HMI, and want you to be comfortable trying new things to test your market, so you can return pretty much anything at any time! As long as it's unused, undamaged, and unopened (applicable to any items with manufacturer packaging) we will take it back. If return shipping is necessary we'll pay the shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.). If you wish to return an item which isn't selling for you or for any reasons outside of an HMI error like breakage, defective item, etc., we will require you to pay the return shipping.
  • STORE CREDIT will be the default for all returns or exchanges where a balance is due to the client. HMI will elect, at it's sole discretion, to issue a refund on a case-by-case basis, but no refunds are guaranteed.
  • For any items needing to be returned or exchanged, we will issue a new invoice for the replacement item (if applicable) at full price, and will issue a credit for the returned item once the return is received and inspected by HMI.
  • There will be NO returns accepted for flammable items. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  • You should expect to receive your credit within two weeks of HMI receiving your return, however, in many cases you will receive a credit more quickly. 
  • If you need to return an item, please go to our live chat or email support@highmountainimports.com with your order number in the subject line and details about the product(s) you would like to return. For any glass breakage please provide photos of the damage to speed up processing your request. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order.
