Shipping & Returns
HMI prides itself on the strongest shipping policy in the industry. We currently default to FedEx as our ship carrier for small parcel shipping, and will provide free small parcel shipping to most wholesale clients based on geography, minimum order, and order contents (flammables or special items may cost extra for all geographies, LTL shipment charges are handled on a per order basis). We will not ship to PO Boxes or residential addresses and reserve the right to cancel orders with such shipping addresses. Below are our current ship policies, effective February 23 2024:
Colorado (small parcel policy):
- Free shipping on most small parcel orders over $420. For orders under $420 a $35 ship fee will apply. Most of the time, FedEx and UPS will deliver to Colorado businesses next day with regular ground service.
The rest of the "lower 48" [contiguous USA excluding Colorado] (small parcel policy):
- Free FedEx ground shipping on most small parcel orders over $420. For orders under $420 a $35 ship fee will apply. Flammables and LTL shipments or other rush services may cost extra. Bulk cones orders will ship standard ground service, not express.
Alaska and Hawaii (small parcel policy):
- Free FedEx Ground shipping on most small parcel orders over $1800. For orders under $1800 we will reach out with final ship cost. We do not upcharge these costs.
- HMI will accept delivery to PO boxes for AK and HI with advance approval, as we know some remote locations are not ideal for FedEx deliveries. In the event we ship to a PO Box, USPS is the required carrier and the client must cover the shipping fees.
- Anyone in the Fairbanks area will require UPS or USPS service, not FedEx, and the client must cover the ship fees. We will reach out after receiving the order to review the options for orders in this region. Please ask about courier services from Anchorage.
Puerto Rico (small parcel policy):
- Unfortunately we cannot offer free shipping to PR at this time.
- We will default shipping to a method/carrier most cost effective for HMI and the customer, and will notify customer of delivery times and cost estimates. Currently we've found it generally to be most cost effective shipping USPS.
International (all shipments):
- We will notify the customer upon receiving an international order as to what shipping options and delivery times are available, based on a variety of factors including the size of the order and global geography. HMI is not responsible for any tariffs, customs fees, or duties incurred.
- For those clients who have a USA-based freight forwarder, we will use our domestic shipping policies to ship to your freight forwarder destination, and HMI's responsibility for the order ends upon delivery to your freight forwarder service.
"Stress Free" Returns Policy
- We want you to feel confident shopping with HMI, and want you to be comfortable trying new things to test your market, so you can return pretty much anything at any time! As long as it's unused, undamaged, and unopened (applicable to any items with manufacturer packaging) we will take it back. If return shipping is necessary we'll pay the shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.). If you wish to return an item which isn't selling for you or for any reasons outside of an HMI error like breakage, defective item, etc., we will require you to pay the return shipping.
- STORE CREDIT will be the default for all returns or exchanges where a balance is due to the client. HMI will elect, at it's sole discretion, to issue a refund on a case-by-case basis, but no refunds are guaranteed.
- For any items needing to be returned or exchanged, we will issue a new invoice for the replacement item (if applicable) at full price, and will issue a credit for the returned item once the return is received and inspected by HMI.
- There will be NO returns accepted for flammable items. We apologize for the inconvenience.
- You should expect to receive your credit within two weeks of HMI receiving your return, however, in many cases you will receive a credit more quickly.
- If you need to return an item, please go to our live chat or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your order number in the subject line and details about the product(s) you would like to return. For any glass breakage please provide photos of the damage to speed up processing your request. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order.
